Valentine’s Day Tea
I don’t usually do much to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but this year for Valentine’s Day, I spent most of the afternoon with my grandma and mom having a “high tea” at my grandma’s house.
My grandma is very into shabby-chic decor and all the flowery and lacy stuff. That’s definitely not my style and I wasn’t sure how much fun this tea was going to be, but it was actually pretty fun to have a “fancy” lunch with her pretty dishes and fun foods.
We had lots of choices, like chicken salad sandwiches on croissant-style bread and cucumber dill sandwiches. We also had some fruit, like kiwi and pineapple. Plus we had white chocolate dipped strawberries. Yum!
Each of us had our choice of teas. My mom had Mandarin Orange Zinger. Grandma had Lemon Zinger, and I had a black tea with Vanilla flavoring.
My mom and grandma made homemade butter cookies with pretty pink and blue frosting to match Grandma’s dishes. I made some delicious red velvet brownies with a cream cheese swirl.
We even took some pictures with us wearing silly floppy hats!
How did you spend your Valentine’s Day?
