Online Income: November 2014
It’s time for my 5th online income report! November was crazy busy with lots of online work to be done. I learned some new skills and forged some new relationships. I landed 2 more long-term VA jobs and one of my “clients” (bosses? I’m not sure what to call them) also purchased another site that they’d like me to manage starting this month (December). The best part about this new site is that I’ll get to do some more writing and work outside the PF realm.
I’ve said it before, I’m so thankful for getting my start with online freelancing in PF. I love writing about PF and it’s something that I think about everyday. But, I do like having a couple of jobs outside of PF too. This helps ensure that I don’t burn out or run out of topics to write about too quickly.
One of my new long-term VA jobs came from one of my “clients” referring me to their blogger friends. Plus the new site I’ll be working on this month also came because my “client” was impressed with my work thus far. This just goes to show you that your performance, customer service, and building relationships are important.
A couple of the one-off gigs I worked on in October also had me do a bit more work for them in November too. Again, they must have liked my work at least a little bit since they asked me to do some things for them again. 🙂
Now that I’ve gotten more involved with VA and blog management, I’m really looking to expand that part of my portfolio a bit more. So, if you are hiring (or if you know of someone who is), please send them my way! I’d really appreciate it.
My online income for November 2014: $753.00
When I finished my last online income report, I warned you that income for November would most likely be lower just because of the timing of payments for the end of October and beginning of November. I was right. My income for November is down a bit, but I’m still happy with it overall. Plus, this is the first month my income has gone down since I first started freelancing in July.
Here is a breakdown of how I earned my money:
VA Services – $222.00
Writing – $400.00
Advertising on Shoeaholic No More – $130.00
Other – $1.00
I did beat my goal from last month, which was $700, so that’s awesome! I’m hoping to increase my income again for December, but I also want to be realistic in that people will probably be taking some time off for the holidays and won’t be throwing as much work my way during that time (or will they?).
This is my first holiday season as a freelancer, so I’m not quite sure what to expect. I know that I personally am not taking off time from blogging or work for Christmas travel, because all of my family is local. So, I am planning on offering my services to help people during that time so they can take the time to travel to see their family, or enjoy the family that traveled to see them.
With all of these unknowns, I’m setting my December goal at $750.
As always, you need to know that I don’t count my online income until the month it gets deposited into my account, so this is from some work at the end of October through about mid-November. I have made some more since then, but it will be included on my next report since it didn’t hit my account until December 1st (or later).
Remember, that my online income has not yet been taxed, which means that about 30% of what I make is going to be taken by Uncle Sam, and another (small) portion of my income will be used for expenses, like internet, computer repairs, and Paypal fees. I’m also saving some of my income to be used for FINCON15!
While I’m enjoying my online work, I’m certainly no pro at blogging or at making money online, but if I can get started you can too! If you have any questions about how to get started blogging, freelancing, or about my online income don’t hesitate to contact me! I promise that I will do my best to answer your questions and if I can’t I will point you to someone who can!
Here are my other online income reports to-date:
October 2014 – $1,080
September 2014 – $581
August 2014 – $280
July 2014 – $285
Did you make money online in November?
