Online Income: August 2014
Well folks, it’s the end of month two of my online freelancing “career” and I’m still loving it!
I sent out a few cold emails in August, and I got a few emails from prospective clients who saw my work via guest posts on other sites too. Don’t write off guest posts! Most blogs don’t pay for guest posts, but they are great exposure for you and you can utilize them to show the range of your voice and writing. This is how a couple of my potential new clients found me! Even though I’ve got a couple paying jobs now, I’m still offering to do guest posts on bigger blogs (as I have time).
Without further delay, my online income from August is: $280 – Yes, this number is down from last month (by $5), which makes me sad but I know it won’t stay down for long.
I did a ton of work that I didn’t get paid for until the end of August and it took until this week for the money to actually get deposited into my account. I don’t count my income (or my unhatched eggs, haha) until it’s actually in my bank account. In addition, I’ve got another new writing job secured and it is one that I can’t wait to share with you (but I have to wait a few more days), plus I have a couple other VA and writing jobs that are still in the works.
Therefore, because of all that, I’m setting my September online income goal at $400!
Remember, that my online income has not yet been taxed, which means that about 30% of what I make is going to be taken by Uncle Sam, and another (small) portion of my income will be used for expenses, like internet, computer repairs, and Paypal fees.
While I’m enjoying my online work, I’m certainly no pro at blogging or at making money online, but if I can get started you can too! If you have any questions about how to get started blogging, freelancing, or about my online income don’t hesitate to contact me! I promise that I will do my best to answer your questions and if I can’t I will point you to someone who can 🙂
Have you ever made money online?
