Online Income: $2,502 in July 2015
If you have just a second, I would LOVE it if you could nominate me for a Plutus Award for Best New Personal Finance Blog or nominate me for best Personal Finance Freelancer!
July marked my 1 year anniversary of when I started freelance writing for blogs. Woot! Woot!
I guess time flies when you’re having fun because I can’t believe it’s already been over a year that I’ve been working with some of my first clients.
Looking back at some of my earliest emails with clients, I’m almost embarrassed at how much I didn’t know. I have learned a TON in the last year, but I definitely still have lots to learn even today. So I guess it’s not so bad that I knew almost nothing when I started last year. 🙂
More than ever, I’m so glad I started my online venture last year because I’m now working from home full-time, which is awesome so far!
July was the last month of my online income being my side hustle, and here’s how it turned out:
My online income for July 2015: $2,502.60 – my highest online income month ever!
Here is a breakdown of how I earned my money:
VA/Blog Management Services – $1,196.00
Writing – $1,045.00
Advertising on both my sites – $261.60
You can find out more about the services I offer here.
My income was up from June because I picked up a couple of VA/blog management clients. I am super excited about my client list right now, which is a great feeling!
One thing about freelancing though is that you can’t get too comfortable and rest on your laurels – so I’m always on the lookout for new experiences, or higher paying work.
I beat my July goal, which was $1,750, which is great!
As always, you need to know that I don’t count my online income until the month it gets deposited into my account, so this is from some work at the end of June through about mid-July. I have made some more since then, but it will be included on my next report since it didn’t hit my account until August 1st (or later).
Remember, that my online income has not yet been taxed, which means that about 30% of what I make is going to be taken by Uncle Sam, and another portion of my income will be used for expenses, like internet, computer repairs, tech services, my staff writer, and PayPal fees. Additionally, I’m saving some of my income to be used for FINCON15!
I’m going to set my August income goal at $2,000! I’m soo excited to see my income and goals going up over time!
Here are my other online income reports to-date:
June 2015 – $2,130.25
May 2015 – $1,873.40
April 2015 – $1,691.51
March 2015 – $2,131
February 2015 – $1,534
January 2015 – $596
December 2014 – $1,503.50
November 2014 – $753
October 2014 – $1,080
September 2014 – $581
August 2014 – $280
July 2014 – $285
For kicks and giggles I decided to average my monthly online income for the 13 months I’ve been freelancing. Even with the smaller months at the very beginning, my average monthly online income (gross) is $1,303.17. My 12 month average is $1,388.02.
Did you make any online income in July?
