November 2014 Budget Plans
I’ve yet to mention it, but October’s debt is not going down as quickly as I had planned. Not that that’s anything different compared to the last few months, which have filled with car repairs, a new computer purchase, and a few new necessary (and some unnecessary) clothing purchases. At least in October the setback was computer software that was necessary for me to continue working on my side hustle.
Now that I’ve let that cat out of the bag, we can get back to the business at hand, my November budget plan.
Here is my budget plan for November, and I’m sticking to it come hell or high water because I’m sick and tired of these unplanned expenses popping up month after month…
|Clothes and Hair||$30.00|
Again, not too many changes month to month anymore. I do have a fun girls’ weekend planned for the beginning of the month, which is why I have higher amounts budgeted for my personal/entertainment money and for gas. Luckily, another girl and I will be carpooling so she’ll chip in for some of the fuel costs.
Other than that weekend and the Thanksgiving holiday, I don’t have much planned for the month.
I am hoping to use a tip I read on Hayley’s blog, A Disease Called Debt, the other day about applying “extra” toward your debts weekly instead of monthly. As she mentions in her post, I generally put off making “extra” payments on my debts until the end of the month. But by then I’ve usually spent that “extra” on things like eating out and shopping, leaving me with nothing to put on my debts beyond what I had budgeted for.
Luckily, I am paying more than the minimums on CC#4 now that I’ve got a bit of snowball rolling from paying off my furniture loan. But I know I could make even more progress if I’d put even more of my PT and side hustle income toward my debts or getting my EF back up to par. That’s a goal of mine for November and I’ll try to keep you all updated about how it goes. I’m still hoping I can get CC#4 paid off before the end of the year, but the balance has gone back up a bit in the last couple months. Wish me luck!
Do you have any big plans for November?
