I can’t believe April is already here, which means we are about to be halfway through the year already! April is one of my favorite months of the year because Spring really starts to take over and I also celebrate my birthday in the month of April too. This year for my birthday, my mom and I will be going to get pedicures at the salon. I’m really looking forward to it as I don’t often splurge for a pedicure anymore so my mom got me one for my birthday. Yay!

I also have a fun trip planned with a couple of my friends toward the end of the month. I’ve budgeted some money for it, but I’m not exactly sure how much it will end up costing.

Here’s my budget plan for April:

CategoryMonthly Total
City Bill$115.00
Gas Bill$46.64
Auto Insurance$101.61
Cash Spending$300.00
Weekend Trip$250.00
Vet Bill$113.00
Business Income Required$3,130.00

There are a few changes to my budget this month.

To start off, my mortgage payment went up by about $25/month due to an increase in my property taxes. 🙁

I also have to buy more contacts in April and I also have a vet bill to pay because my poor cat got sick at the tail end of March and ended up needing to stay overnight at the vet’s office and she came home with two prescriptions. Luckily it’s nothing major that will require on-going care.

I already told you about my trip and I budgeted $250 for it since we will be staying in a hotel for a couple of nights. My friends and I are sharing a room so the hotel bill will be cheap and we plan to take lots of snacks with us to help cut down on the cost of food. We will take advantage of free breakfast at the hotel so hopefully we’ll only need to buy lunch and supper while we are out-of-town. I’m going to stick a case of water bottles in my car before we leave so I don’t have to buy bottled water and we are going to take a cooler too. It should be a fun long weekend trip and the girls I’m going with are pretty frugal, so hopefully that will help me stay on track with my spending too. 🙂

April should be a good month, although I’m expecting it to be very busy. I will likely spend some time getting ready for our upcoming garage sale in May by decluttering and finding things for the sale, as well as getting organized, and more.

Do you have any plans for April? How will they affect your budget?
