Prague city breaks have become increasingly popular, with large numbers of tourists visiting the Czech capital every year. It’s one of the best-preserved historic cities in Europe with plenty of attractions, world-renowned night life, and exceptional cuisine. If you’re planning a Eurotrip, here’s some of the main reason’s you’ll want to include Prague in your itinerary.
Considering it’s one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, it’s surprisingly affordable to enjoy a few days in Prague. The Czech currency is weak compared to the euro and dollar whilst competition amongst hotels and bars is fierce. This is great news for visitors. The hearty Czech cuisine is perfectly suited for an autumn or winter break. Meat lovers can rejoice with delicious beef and pork dishes usually served with steaming dumplings, cabbage and finished with a creamy sauce. Another local favorite, known as Smažený Sýr is a cheese-based dish which is fried and served with chips. One of the best restaurants in the city, U Kroka serves up these culinary delights alongside a fine selection of wines.

Lager is taken very seriously in Prague with an endless choice of craft and world-famous beers such as Pilsner Urquell or Staropramen. You can visit one of the local breweries or spend an afternoon at a beer museum which offers over 30 beers on tap. There’s even a beer spa where you can enjoy a variety of pampering treatments, including a relaxing soak in a beer filled bath.
Experience the Legendary Nightlife
Famed for its entertainment, Prague has become well-known for offering the best nightlife in central Europe. There are heaps of underground cellar bars which can be found in the Old Town. With a unique cave-like atmosphere, you can enjoy live music long into the early hours. There are also many clubs hosting international DJ’s and themed parties. Chapeau Rouge is one such establishment which stays open late and has different levels playing a variety of music.
