5 Reasons Not To Skip Prague In Your Eurotrip

It’s one of the best-preserved historic cities in Europe with plenty of attractions, world-renowned night life, and exceptional cuisine. If you’re planning a Eurotrip, here’s some of the main reason’s you’ll want to include Prague in your itinerary.

It’s Cheap

Considering it’s one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, it’s surprisingly affordable to enjoy a few days in Prague. The Czech currency is weak compared to the euro and dollar whilst competition amongst hotels and bars is fierce. This is great news for visitors. You won’t need much spending money to enjoy everything the city has to offer. You can expect to pay up to as much as 50% less compared with other cities such as Paris and Rome.

There’s Plenty to See

Spend a day exploring the winding streets of the city’s historic center, Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can marvel at the 600-year-old astronomical clock and the two magnificent churches, Baroque Church of St. Nicholas and the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn. There’s also the charming Jewish Quarter and endless boutique shops and cafes nestled alongside former palaces.

Another must-see attraction is Prague Castle which overlooks the city from its hilltop location. Dating back to the 9thcentury, it’s believed to be the largest ancient castle in the world. You can take a walking tour stopping at other attractions such as the museum and art gallery.

You can Indulge in the Comfort Food

The hearty Czech cuisine is perfectly suited for an autumn or winter break. Meat lovers can rejoice with delicious beef and pork dishes usually served with steaming dumplings, cabbage and finished with a creamy sauce. Another local favorite, known as Smažený Sýr is a cheese-based dish which is fried and served with chips. One of the best restaurants in the city, U Kroka serves up these culinary delights alongside a fine selection of wines.

You can Sample the World Famous Beer

Lager is taken very seriously in Prague with an endless choice of craft and world-famous beers such as Pilsner Urquell or Staropramen. You can visit one of the local breweries or spend an afternoon at a beer museum which offers over 30 beers on tap. There’s even a beer spa where you can enjoy a variety of pampering treatments, including a relaxing soak in a beer filled bath.

Experience the Legendary Nightlife

Famed for its entertainment, Prague has become well-known for offering the best nightlife in central Europe. There are heaps of underground cellar bars which can be found in the Old Town. With a unique cave-like atmosphere, you can enjoy live music long into the early hours. There are also many clubs hosting international DJ’s and themed parties. Chapeau Rouge is one such establishment which stays open late and has different levels playing a variety of music.
